Things are improving

We found some nice big kings this morning after struggling last evening. Warm water conditions still exist but at least we are banging some big kings. We caught 5 big kings this morning all over 15 pounds. Check out the nice king caught by Melissa Nelson from Hudson, Wisconsin.

Warm water slowdown
Posted by Captain Denny on 07/22/08 at 02:04:30 PM
NE winds blew lots of warm water against the Wisconsin shore the past few days and slowed fishing a bit. With a change to more westerly winds we hope things pick up. We'll be on the water a lot the next few days so stay tuned.
Steady action

A stationary weather front has brought relatively calm but humid air to the region with periodic storms. Water temps have risen compared to last week. But fishing action remains quite good across northern Door County. We boated 22 king salmon yesterday many of which were nice fat 4-yr olds. We are also catching lots of small 1-yr old kings which supports the DNR's observation that natural reproduction is putting lots of salmon into the lake. Let's just hope that there is enough bait fish to support such predator numbers. So far so good.
Lucky Minnesota guys!

Three lucky anglers from Minnesota enjoyed some good fishing aboard the Reel Addiction this morning. Fishing conditions were tough (warm water) and most anglers reported 1-3 fish caught. But we brought home 15 fish that included one lake trout and one big rainbow. We lost the biggest fish close to the boat when it spit the hook. Isn't that usually the case! All in all a good morning!
Nice weather

This morning was stark contrast to yesterday. It was sunny with a favorable west wind. We found bait and salmon immediately and had lots of action. We boated 13 king salmon this morning with the biggest weighing 19 pounds. We also had several in the 17-18 pound range. It was a 5 Star morning!
